A bunch of the homeboys on the west side are friends of ours. Some of them sat in elementary school classrooms at the school where the blonde was a classroom teacher in the 70's an 80's. And now they're senior associates, mostly west side Disciples. And they liked her. I remember one of them saying to her some years after she retired from teaching and went into mental health work, "Y'know Ms. Bana, you're safer here on the west side than you are in your home out in DuPage. We liked you a lot. We still like you.
